When this Project arrived at our office in 2015, it was just an export chocolate brand with no name or identity. At Blu!Lab we carefully researched what makes this product so unique. We discovered that this family-owned brand has a centuries-old cocoa harvesting history, dating back to the 1800s. In 1892, Ecuador became the main exporter of cocoa beans worldwide, so this year was the focal point to create the brand identity. A vintage-style packaging that transports the consumer to the golden age of Ecuadorian cocoa, without losing the modern details that communicate its legacy of tradition and innovation. Here I was in charge of strategy, naming, illustration and art direction.
